Without overhauling anything, I’d love to see more the people behind the movement. So far, I love the interactivity and immediacy of the pledge map and PayPal celebrity smackdown widget, but I’d like to start seeing more of the actual effects of individuals’ pledges and donations. Let’s see some of the faces of the kids we’re helping. Perhaps if I clicked on the map, I could see personal stories of results in Indiana, Texas, etc. Most of the videos posted require clicking through previous entries, and I’d like to see a category front and center where I can check out the real, tangible results of the campaign’s success. Video, photos, personal stories, etc. (some of which you already have). It would be nice, also, if photo/text stories were available, since I’m not always interested in sitting through a video, no matter how short. Share Our Strength has a YouTube channel and a Flickr stream, which is great, but I’d also like to see the content organized and easily accessible on the site. If you get outside media coverage for your efforts as well, please highlight it. I know it helps link-building-wise, but it also “makes it real” for users visiting the site. Additional third-party endorsement never hurts!
